One theory is that your body has adapted to works best if you eat food and produce that are ripe in your area. So in summer you eat the foods that are harvested in the summer in your region of the country. That was a healthy way of eating in the past. But with people moving around so much, I’m not sure that theory is practical or meaningful.
Then there is the subject of organics, which I wrote about in my prior post. Those who feel very strongly about organics believe that it is better to eat organic foods that may have to be transported than to eat local foods that are not organic.
